US Campath (alemtuzumab) Distribution Program

Notice of Upcoming Changes to Campath (alemtuzumab) Distribution Program

August 16, 2019

Beginning in October of this year, operational changes to the Campath (alemtuzumab) Distribution Program will take effect. These new processes are being introduced as part of regular and ongoing assessments to the program and may impact how Campath (alemtuzumab) is made available to physicians and treating institutions, as well as how its usage is documented and reported.

Campath (alemtuzumab) Distribution Program updates will include:

  • Requests for access to the Product must be made by the prescribing physician digitally on the Portal. Requests submitted by email, fax etc. will no longer be accepted
  • Requests to use the Product in certain indications will be sent for Medical review. Requests may be denied if approved/conventional treatments (available and approved by regulatory authorities) have not been considered or for other medical reasons
  • Product can be shipped only after the full reconciliation of the previously shipped vials has been submitted on the Portal

Additionally, for SOT inventory-eligible centers only:

  • The annual allotments levels will be reviewed every year and may be reduced
  • Product can be shipped only after the full reconciliation of the previously shipped vials has been provided and following the retroactive completion of "CDP SOT Patient Form – Inventory Supply" on the Portal for each SOT patient infused with the vials provided as a part of SOT inventory supply
  • SOT inventory-eligible centers will be required to submit current SOT Hospital protocols on annual basis

Further details regarding these new processes are outlined in an updated Guidance Document, now available for your reference.
